Green technology in the garden hotel in Vienna

At eco-friendly Hotel Stadthalle, environmental awareness has top priority. Depending on the weather, our 130 m² of solar panels heat up enough hot water to supply the entire hotel with renewable energy.

Water from our well is used to flush the toilets and to tend our unique hotel garden and lavender roof, which is Vienna's largest lavender field.

During summer you are welcome to start your day with a hearty and healthy breakfast in the garden, surrounded by fragrant lavender and rose bushes.

Awards for eco-friendliness and sustainability in tourism

Even our drinking water is refreshingly different from what you would expect in a city hotel: we offer Grander water.

This is renewable energy at its best, wouldn't you agree?

The EU surely does. Hotel Stadthalle was the first eco-friendly hotel in Vienna and was awarded with the European eco-label.

Schönbrunn Palace

Schloss-Schönbrunn-300x200
Schönbrunn Palace is one of Austria's most significant cultural assets as well as one of the major sights in Vienna since the 1960s.

Soon after the fall of the Habsburg monarchy the Viennese discovered the palace and its surroundings as their recreational area, located in the heart of the city. Finally the palace was opened to the public as well as to international visitors and now attracts around 1.5 million visitors each year.

The park and other parts of the Schönbrunn estate draw a further 5.2 million, totalling 6.7 million visitors who are ravished by the historical and natural beauty of Schönbrunn every year.
